At VARC, our commitment to uplifting individuals on their journeys toward independence, purpose, and connection has never been stronger. As we reach the midpoint of 2025, we are excited to share the remarkable achievements of our clients across various Client Services programs. The numbers not only reflect our year-to-date growth but also the positive impact we are making in the lives of those we serve.

Each day, we are privileged to be part of our clients' stories, providing support that empowers them to reach their goals. The achievements we've tracked this quarter highlight the depth of our community's resilience and determination. Let's take a closer look at the impressive figures that showcase our collective efforts:
TOTAL CLIENTS SERVED: So far this year, 467 people have received support through VARC Client Services. We have proudly served 309 clients in our Prevocational Program, 274 in Supported Employment, 161 in Day Services, 21 in Group Supported Employment, with many clients choosing to participate in more than one VARC service.
YOUTH SERVICES AND ADULTHOOD TRANSITION: Currently, 27 young clients are supported through Child & Youth Services, and 56 children are enrolled at the Preschool Childcare Center, a licensed center owned and operated by VARC that proudly serves working families in La Crosse. Transition Services supports 16 clients in the important phase between adolescence and adulthood, preparing them for independent living and successful employment.
JOB PLACEMENT SUCCESS: Our Supported Employment clients have flourished, with over 50 interns placed in temporary internships, and 25 of those transitioning into full-time positions with community employers.
LONG-TERM SUPPORT & RECOVERY: We currently support 45 long-term support clients, in addition to 5 recovery clients working at The Good Bean within the La Crosse-based Coulee Recovery Center.
TRANSPORTATION TRIUMPHS: Our commitment to safe and accessible transportation is evident in the over 18,162 bus trips we provided to our clients this year.

Cultural and Educational Enrichment
Our programs are not just about numbers; they’re about experiences that enrich lives. Throughout April, May, and June, our clients participated in a variety of engaging and enlightening activities:
CELEBRATING CULTURES: For Cinco De Mayo, clients crafted piñatas and maracas while indulging in delicious Mexican sweet bread. They also celebrated Hispanic Heritage by creating flags from various countries and dancing to lively mariachi music.
PROMOTING WELLNESS: Health and Awareness week included crafting stress balls, enjoying relaxation massages, and engaging in invigorating yoga classes.
FOSTERING CREATIVITY: During Dairy Week, clients learned about dairy products and crafted their own barns, encouraging creativity while reinforcing educational concepts.
SUMMER FUN KICKOFF: We decorated our spaces with summer themes and brainstormed exciting summertime activities, fostering a sense of joy and anticipation in our community.
A Bright Future Ahead
As we reflect on our successes in the first half of 2025, we are filled with gratitude for the opportunity to witness our clients thrive. Their achievements inspire us to continue our mission of fostering independence and community connection. We look forward to the upcoming months, eager to build on this momentum and support even greater successes ahead. At VARC, every client success story is a testament to the enduring spirit of our community. Together, we are not just changing lives; we are celebrating them. Here’s to more achievements, more connections, and a future filled with possibilities!
